The Babaco, a member of the Papaya family produces a torpedo shaped fruit with effervescent flesh similar to champagne. The Babaco has a slight acid flavour with hints of strawberry and pineapple and is great eaten fresh or made into a refreshing drink!

The Babaco needs well drained soil and protection from frosts but performs well in cooler climates given the right care!
