The Chempedak is a relative of Jackfruit that is native to south east Asia . The soft fleshed fruits are very sweet with slight fibre . The fruit of the Chempedak are smaller and less fibrous than the Jackfruit.

The fruit of the Chempedak has a strong odour with the fruits smelling like durians when ripe, however once the peel is removed this will remove most of the odour.

The Chempedak are tropical in their growing requirements needing a warmer position then Jackfruit, moist position and deep fertile soil in the full sun. Great eaten fresh or green in cooking.
