Green Sapote

The Green Sapote is a close relative of the Mamey Sapote but is a more compact and cold hardy tree. The round, green skinned fruit turns to a red, orange or gold when ripe and has a superior, sweeter flavour to the Mamey. Green Sapote is indigenous to the highlands of Central America ,It is related to mamey sapote, sapodilla, canistel and abiu. Prefers well drained soil for best results.
