The Carters Red is a red to pink fleshed variety of the the giant Pummelo family. Pummelo are a tropical citrus that is historically planted in warmer climates however is performing well in subtropical and temperate climates with protection from frost when young. The Carters Red has large thick skinned fruits that have a flavour similar to a grapefruit only much sweeter.
