The Spanish lime also known as Mamoncillo (Meliococcus bijugatus) is a medium-to-large tree native to the Caribbean region of Tropical America.
The fruits hang in clusters near the terminals of the tree similar to Lychee and Longan
The fruit size generally is about an inch to two inches in diameter. Inside the tick green skin lies a sweetish-tart orange to yellow pulp surrounding a seed.
The flavour of the Spanish lime are a mixture sweetness and acidity making them extremely refreshing.
